Acknowledging Adversity

Many of our graduating students have overcome tremendous obstacles to reach this milestone. A lot of times their efforts and journeys are largely unseen and not many people are able to relate with their circumstances. These students have to grow up faster than peers due to added responsibilities caused by factors outside their control like: 

• Family separation and reunification,
• Financial hardship, 
• Language barriers, 
• Social stigma and discrimination,
• Caregiving responsibilities,
• Emotional and psychological challenges. 

 With these challenges they are still able to be present and perform academically. 

Celebrate With Africa is not just about honoring academic achievements; but also, the strength, courage and character of each and every graduate.

• It is about appreciating the sacrifices they've made, the hurdles they've overcome, and the dreams they've pursued.
• It is about recognizing the diversity of experiences, cultures, and perspectives that enrich our community and make us stronger together.
• It is about appreciating the teachers, mentors, families, and communities who have supported and encouraged them along the way.

We honor the contributions of every individual who has played a role in shaping the lives of these graduates and helping them reach this milestone.
